Painting with light
Photography found me at 17 when I took my father’s Zenit B camera to Tibet, in search of a place to belong. That trip ignited a lifelong passion for painting humanity’s beauty. Over the years, I’ve transitioned from 35mm to large-format photography, learning patience and precision along the way. My 10x8 titanium camera, the Gibellini GP810Ti, lets me create painterly, authentic portraits, using long-exposure techniques to highlight the essence of my subjects. -
For me, photography is more than just an image – it’s about connection. Every shot is an intimate dialogue, requiring trust, time, and deep respect for the people I photograph. I work solely with ambient light, staying true to the moment and embracing imperfection as part of the beauty I see. I’ve always chosen colour to convey the richness of the cultures I encounter, offering a fuller, more immersive experience.
In a world driven by speed, I believe in slowing down. My work is a deliberate stand against the rush of the digital age, and a reminder that true beauty can’t be rushed. It's not about capturing a perfect image, but about seeing the world - and each other - with our hearts. My commitment to analogue photography is a testament to the real, enduring dignity of humanity in an increasingly artificial world.
